Client Guide: Step-by-Step Car Import Process

Welcome to Carju Auto Agency! Below is a detailed step-by-step guide to help you successfully purchase and import a vehicle from Japan. Follow these instructions carefully to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience.

Step 1: Initial Inquiry & Consultation

Contact us via email, WhatsApp, or phone to discuss your vehicle needs. Provide details such as preferred make, model, year, budget, and any specific features. We provide auction insights, price estimates, and expected shipping costs.

Step 2: Client Registration & Information Submission

Fill out the Client Registration Form with the following details:

Full name (as per legal documents)

Contact details (email & phone number)

Preferred shipping port

Country of import

Tax Identification Number (if required by your country)

Submit a copy of two of your Identification Documents. National ID, Passport or Driver's license for verification.

Step 3: Vehicle Selection & Bidding Process

We search for vehicles matching your requirements in Japanese car auctions. You receive auction sheets, condition reports, and price estimates. Once you approve a car, you must pay a refundable (on condition... see Additional notes in step 7) deposit to proceed with bidding. Our team bids on your behalf, ensuring the best possible price. If your bid is unsuccessful, we continue searching or refund the deposit upon request.

Step 4: Payment & Purchase Confirmation

Once a bid is successful, we provide an invoice with the total cost breakdown. The full payment must be completed within 2-3 business days via bank transfer. After payment confirmation, we secure the vehicle and begin the export process.

Once payment is done please submit proof below. A successful transaction screenshot or scan copy of payment receipt issued by your bank will suffice.

Step 5: Export Documentation & Shipping

We handle all necessary export paperwork, including:

Export Certificate (Deregistration Certificate from Japan)

Bill of Lading (BOL) (Proof of shipment)

Inspection Certificate (If required for your country)

Commercial Invoice The vehicle is booked for shipping via RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) or Container Shipping.  We provide estimated shipping timelines and tracking details.

Step 6: Customs Clearance & Import Duties

Once the car arrives at the destination port, you must arrange customs clearance. Required documents for clearance:

Original Bill of Lading

Import Declaration Form (IDF) (Required in some countries)

Tax Identification Number (TIN) (If applicable)

Any additional documentation required by your local customs authority. Pay import duties, VAT, and port handling fees as per your country’s regulations.

Step 7: Final Delivery & Vehicle Registration

Once cleared, you can collect the vehicle or arrange for inland transport to your location. Register the vehicle with your local transport authority. Complete roadworthiness inspections if required. Obtain license plates and insurance before driving.
